How to prepare for Judicial examinations with smart strategy.
Hello Everyone!
In this blog, I will share the conceptual points regarding how to start the preparation for judicial services exams with some amazing tricks. This article should provide the required information to begin your preparation for becoming a judge.
Identification of states in which you are intending to give a judicial exam!
You can prepare for 3 or 4 states Judiciary exams of your choice at the same time but not more than that.
The strategy should be to i
- Pair1: Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand
- Pair2: Bihar and Jharkhand
- Pair3: Delhi and Haryana
- Pair4: Rajasthan and MP etc
This way you can focus on any 2 pairs and be ready to cover 4 states!
Tips for PRE:
As we all know that the syllabus plays an important role to clear any exam or for selection in any exam so the same thing also applies here!
You should identify the syllabus of the respective judicial services exam in which you are intending to get success! Here are some important pointers to keep you focused on the syllabus:
- Each and Every topic (sections) should be studied of the Act which is mentioned in the syllabus.
- Definition clauses should be read carefully.
- You should make a comprehensive study, for eg filtration of important sections (what is important and what is not).
- You should read the newspaper daily either Indian Express or The Hindu or any other newspaper of your choice and cover the General Knowledge (GK) portion from the book "Lucent" or any other book of your choice.
- After completion of syllabus of a subject (one or more) or any particular subject from the syllabus, you should start the practice of previous years question papers of that state or from any good objective questions book like O P Tripathi or Singhal Law Publications
Note: I am assuming you all know that Pre contains objective type questions.
Tips for the MAINS:
As always start with the syllabus. You should study important topics in detail and must be familiar with the leading and recent cases of Hon'ble SC of India on the relevant topic. You should always use authentic and good reference books for the preparation of the judicial exam. Here are some pointers for the preparation for MAINS:
- Break the section into the essential ingredient and should focus on each of the ingredients.
- Practice answer writing only from the previous year's papers of the respective judicial services exam.
- You should Focus on language paper and local laws paper as well. I think these two papers play an important role in the final selection.

- Indian penal code
- CRPC
- Evidence
- CPC
- Constitutional law
